Mission and Overview

Mission

The Westford Community Fields Committee is a broad coalition of people working toward one goal – the construction of three multi-purpose artificial turf fields in Westford, MA.  Two fields will be situated at the Recreation parcel on Nutting Road and the third will be installed at Westford Academy in Alumni Stadium.

Why do it?

It is an accepted fact that the number of recreational fields in Westford has not kept up with the rapidly rising population growth in town.  Nearly 4,000 youths and young adults and 400 adults take part in some type of organized sport within the Westford community.  Our current fields are overused and deteriorating, even with the increase in maintenence, which results in higher taxes to support the additional labor.

Why Artificial Turf?

Artificial fields are more durable, cost efficient and better for the environment than traditional grass fields.  In addition, artificial turf fields will expand the usage of the field to include dances, school events, community arts events, and other public events that are currently not possible due to the concern over the condition of our existing fields.

Less Tax Money for Fields While Increasing Field Usage

In constructing new fields to meet the town's growing demands, artificial turf makes the most sense.  It is durable, economical, and will increase the usage of the fields for all residents and activities.  Help support our efforts to put these fields in town by donating to our organization.  Your support is greatly appreciated.
