Westford Academy
Westford Academy now has a modern artificial turf field thanks to the generosity of the WA Trustees; Youth Sports Associations; and many individual and corporate donors.

The Westford Academy Alumni Field is a benefit to the entire community and a source of town pride. Having an artificial turf surface allows it to be more readily available for school and town organizations while making it a showcase site for all of Westford.
- Artificial turf fields are less expensive to maintain than natural grass with a payback on the initial investment in 10-15 years.
- 1 artificial turf field can support the traffic of 5 grass fields.
- This field will protect the environment and conserve energy while allowing our student athletes and others to compete on a level playing field with neighboring towns.
The initiative to build this artificial turf field at Westford Academy is part of The Community Fields Project. The objective is to construct 3 artificial turf fields in Westford – 1 at WA and 2 on Nutting Road.
- This is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to contribute and make a difference for many in our town.
- The fields are needed so as to better accommodate the 4,000 children and 400 adults that participate in organized recreational activities in Westford.
- These resilient weather-resistant surfaces can be used for multiple purposes not just sports e.g. concerts, graduations, dances, banquets, summer camps, and other events.
The Community Fields Project has the support of the Community Preservation Act & Committee, Westford Academy, Westford Parks & Recreation Commission, Westford Youth Soccer, Westford Lacrosse, Westford & Littleton Youth Football, Westford Junior Ghosts, the WA Boosters, and other groups.
