Almost $625,000 has been raised or pledged for the Westford Academy Trustees Field. This site cost approximately $650,000 and is now in use.
The final cost of the 3 fields will be in the range of $2.2 million. The Nutting Road site has been cleared and leveled. This was all performed with the utmost sensitivity to Keyes Brook and the nearby pristine East Boston Camps parcel. The Parks & Recreation Commission is now considering bids for the construction of the 2 fields, car park, and landscaping. Construction would commence in the spring of 2012.
The Community Preservation Act will provide $1,210,000 towards the construction of the 2 fields at Nutting Road. These funds can only be used at the Nutting Road site. The 2 fields at Nutting will be under the supervision of the Westford Parks & Recreation Commission and Recreation Department Director Pat Savage. Westford Youth Soccer Association (WYSA) and Westford Youth Lacrosse (W-LAX) have pledged to provide $300,000 towards the 2 fields at Nutting. We have over $2.0 million raised or pledged towards the cost of the 3 fields - we're 90% there!
