Why Artificial Turf?

Westford needs artificial turf fields to accommodate the over 3,590 sports participants we have in town now on our natural surface fields. Turf fields are more durable; better for the environment; can be used earlier in the year; and have a better return on investment than grass fields. We need to level the playing field with our neighboring towns and rivals in the Dual County League. The field at WA can also be used for graduations, concerts, and other events. The final cost of the 3 fields at the 2 sites is hard to estimate at this stage and may be in the range of $2.6 million. Thanks to you, we have already raised more than half this amount.
